competition TEAMS

Our TEAMS grow every year! We are super excited about 2023-2024 season. Currently, our TEAMS consist of approximately 60 dancers. In addition to competing with other studios at some great competitions throughout the southeast, our TEAMS do some "showcase" dancing at local pageants and festivals. Our TEAMs work really hard to be an outstanding representation of ShowStoppers and we couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments! We're constantly recruiting TEAM members. If you're interested, please ask if your dancer is eligible (age, experience and level of dance are all taken into consideration when inviting new TEAM members).

REQUIREMENTS

Team members must participate in the following for the 2023-2024 dance season:

Members attend classes two nights per week.
Compete in two competitions
Participate in the Frog Festival, Mule Day, Squadron game, RECITAL and Christmas performance.
Purchase a TEAM jacket, TEAM duffel, TEAM leotard, black ballet shorts and necessary dance shoes.
Attend July TEAM classes.

Class wear

TEAM members must dress appropriately for weekly classes.

Ballet

Hair up, black leotard and black ballet shorts ONLY. No t-shirts, cheer shorts or other dance attire allowed for ballet.

All Other Classes

Standard dance attire of your choice.

TEAM members must exhibit commitment with good attenDANCE!! We realize that sometimes there are conflicts and unavoidable absences, but attenDANCE is very important. It a TEAM member's responsibility to ask for help in making up missed material. Member cannot be absent for more than 10 class hours during the months of August - December or January - May. If a TEAM member cannot meet the attenDANCE requirements, they will be removed from the competition TEAM. Be mindful of other activities or school athletics that would prevent you from attending before committing to the TEAM. Before major spring competitions, dancers will have extra MANDATORY practices and a "lock-in" rehearsal.

TEAM TUITION & FEES

$125 per month (first year TEAM members)

$150 per month (all other TEAMS)

The monthly tuition covers jazz, hip hop, tap, ballet, and strength/technique classes. TEAM members must attend all classes which include the 5 styles.. If participating on the clogging TEAM, tuition will be an additional $10 per month.

$325 costume fee (first year TEAM members)

DUE BY OCTOBER 15, 2023

The costume fee covers four costumes. If adding the clogging Team option, please add $75-$90 to this total.

$400 costumes fee (all other TEAMS)

DUE BY OCTOBER 15, 2023

The costume fee covers five costumes. If adding the clogging Team option, please add $75-$90 to this total.

Competition fees vary, but are approximately $65 per dance in a three dance competition for an approximate total of $195 per competition. It is good to budget approximately $350 - $450 per year for competitions. If you are on a clogging TEAM, add an extra $65 per competition to cover the clogging dance.

Fundraisers

TEAM members are given the opportunity to participate in our annual mums fundraiser in October. However, you are not obligated as a TEAM member to participate in any fundraising activities sponsored by the studio. We also encourage TEAM members to organize fundraisers individually or with TEAMmates as needed or desired.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

If you withdraw from the TEAM after the first week in October, you will be required to pay a $500 drop fee.
