Class selection

If you are wondering what class to choose from the schedule, use the progression list below as a guide. Remember it’s ok to repeat a class if it’s still in your dancer’s age range...they’re not being “held back”.

Class progression goes like this...

TINY DANCERS
MINI MOVERS
KIDS IN MOTION
ADVANCED COMBO

For HIP HOP and TAP classes, find your child’s age in the class descriptions on the registration web site and choose accordingly.

We love for classmates to stay together, improve together and DANCE together forever! If you would like a class recommendation for your child OR if you want to know what class your friends are choosing, let me know! #dancefriendsarethebestfriends

tuition and billing

TUITION

For a detailed class list and tuition costs, please visit the CLASSES section of the web site.

Every dancer's account is required to have a credit card on file for the monthly tuition draft. Your credit card on file will be charged for tuition only on the first day of each month. If you do not want your card to be charged for tuition, you must pay in the office BEFORE the first day of the month. If your card is declined OR if you fail to pay in the office by the first, a $10 late fee will be added to your account.

Recurring billing/autodraft is a monthly recurring debit for tuition only. There is a 3% processing fee ($55 tuition + 3% = $56.65 or $70 tution + 3% = $72.10 and so on) which will be included in your monthly recurring billing charge.

When registering "check" the recurring billing box on your dancer's account. By checking recurring billing, you are authorizing ShowStoppers to debit your credit card for tuition on the 1st of each month including a 3% processing fee... ($55 tuition + 3% = $56.65 or $70 tution + 3% = $72.10 and so on). This card will only be used for tuition.  If you want to use this card for costumes and other account charges, send an email or inform office personnel.

communication

Your teachers are here to help and we want to develop relationships with our dancers. We want to have great relationships with parents and dancers. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us...

You will notice our studio phone number is not listed on the web site. We are typically busy teaching classes or assisting parents in the studio office when we are open. It is difficult to answer phone calls during this time. If you need to reach us, please contact us via email at ssdc5678@gmail.com. You can request a call back, if you would like to speak with Shondra or a staff member.

We also encourage you to sign up for our text notifications and eNewsletter. We send out eNewsletters quarterly with important information about upcoming events, deadlines, and other SSDC news! Please add ssdc5678@gmail.com to your contacts to avoid having correspondence going to your junk mail.

dress code

We do not have a strict dress code at ShowStoppers (with the exception of Advanced Combo students and TEAM members). We do want ALL of our students to wear appropriate dance wear and shoes in order to be successful in class. However, we do not require specific tops, bottoms, leotards, colors, brands, etc., to be worn during dance class.

The only time we require a certain color shoe is when pictures and recital come around. These requirements are listed on our class page for each class. If your shoe color does not match the one required, we do not expect you to buy a new pair. You can simply spray paint them!

We do sell dance shoes in the studio office. We keep several styles and sizes in stock on a regular basis. Prices are comparable to other dance shoe companies.

studio expectations & observing class

We welcome parents, grandparents and family members to visit the studio during their dancer's class. Bench seating is available in the front lobby and an observation window is available. Parents are not allowed to enter the dance studio room during a class unless requested by an instructor to assist a dancer with a bathroom break or specific need. We encourage you to watch your dancer improve each week.

holidays & bad weather

Please note that ShowStoppers Dance Company follows the Walker County school system calendar for holidays and weather cancellations. If schools close due to bad weather, ShowStoppers' evening classes will also be canceled the same day. The studio is also closed for Labor Day, Thanksgiving break (Wednesday - Friday), two weeks at Christmas, Spring Break and Memorial Day. Visit our calendar page for more details. We also post closures to our SSDC Facebook page.

make-up lessons

ShowStoppers Dance Studio does not pro-rate tuition. If for any reason you aren't able to attend dance class, whether it be for a bad weather cancellation or a sick child, feel free to attend a makeup lesson.  A dancer can attend any class offered to their age group for a makeup lesson. You can view our schedules on the website to find a similar class that fits your schedule, then just show up and let the teacher know you are there for a makeup lesson!
